The dates of the EFLM Strategic Congress 2024 are fast approaching and it is pleasing, as well as my duty, to point out a few aspects.

The 2024 edition of the Strategic Conference is a hybrid meeting for allowing a large participation of delegates (virtual) and an interactive discussion (in presence, in Padova) to better discuss future EFLM initiatives based on current trends and challenges in laboratory medicine.

Moreover, in Padova most of the Chairs of EFLM Functional Units will be present, organizing their own internal meetings and bringing in a diverse group of experts to participate in the Conference discussion.

I would like to remember you that the Strategic Conference is not just about gaining knowledge from scientific sessions: the general goal is to focus on the most important aspects of laboratory medicine in which some strategic actions/initiatives should be taken.

I am delighted to inform you that more than 300 colleagues have already decided to register for the “in presence” attendance, but I would like to strongly invite you to take into consideration the opportunity to be connected through the EFLM e-learning platform, section “interactive contents” to attend the scientific event virtually.

In addition, I am delighted to inform you that 28 companies have sponsored the event and accepted my invitation to be partner in promoting future initiatives to make laboratory medicine and clinical laboratories much stronger and visible in modern healthcare systems.

Padova awaits you with its historical tradition as one of the cradles of medicine and laboratory medicine, thanks to the teaching of Giovanni Battista Morgagni, and with the beauties that have enabled it to be recognised by Unesco as Urbs Picta.
